I was perusing the New York Times children's best sellers' list and came across it to my delight. Needless to say, I have not read or even seen the book. But for those who have not come across
Lilly's Purple Plastic Purse, it is fantastic. If you look in our back catalog of reviews, you will find it. Mr Slinger is the most fab teacher you could ever come across. And as it says below, he is getting married. We were sure he was gay, so this comes as an enormous shock to us. Because eventhough Kevin Henkes is the bees knees in terms of humour, prose and terrific illustrations, I can be pretty sure that Mr Slinger is marrying a female.
I thought I would add the rest of the list. And if you would like to see the chapter book lists as well, then say goodbye to us and hop over to the New York Times.
