If you haven't come across Crispin, a spoiled pig child who is actually a nice kid with terrible parents, then don't start here. From my 6 to my 12 year old, there was complete agreement that we loved this book on the back of the other two.
Crispin the Pig Who Had it All introduces us to Ted Dewan's world of animal indulgence. His illustrations are mad with suburban consumerism and greed. But luckily, Crispin makes friends with children from the wrong side of the tracks who still knew how to play and imagine.
In Crispin and the Three Little Piglets, we see how Crispin fares as an older brother of triplets. Once again Crispin, despite adult inadequacies, rises above his plight.
In the most recent of the trio, Crispin is coping with disappointing birthday parties due to unimaginative parents. As usual, the story has a wonderfully satisfying pattern of repeated disasters followed by an unexpected ending. If you are already a fan, you won't be disappointed.
