Recommendations from Alice's class

Alice's year 3 class is made up of seven and eight year olds. Her teacher compiled a list of book reviews that the children had written. Each girl was asked the type of book, to write a short summary, what they most liked and what they least liked about the book they chose. I thought it would be useful for readers looking for books for seven and eight year old girls to know what they have enjoyed reading. The choice of books reflects a wide range of reading abilities and reading tastes.

Stormchaser is a story about a boy called Twig who is a crew member on a sky pirate's ship. They have been ordered to collect stormphrax, a valuable material created inside a great storm.
I really like Twig because he does not get everything right, which makes him a realistic character. The reader, Alex Jennings is one of Britain's leading actors. He has won three Lawrence Olivier Awards, the London Evening Standard Theatre Award and the London Critics Circle Theatre Award. He changes the story from a fantastic book to an amazing CD. He is a terrific reader and that makes all the difference.
